Canadian Football

Montreal’s professional football team is called the Alouettes. They play at Molson Stadium at McGill University (475 avenue Des Pins West). Their season is from June to November. They play in the Canadian Football League. Canadian Football is similar to American football, but in Canada, the field is bigger and some of the rules are different. Canadian football is very popular in Canada, especially in Quebec. Many Canadian cities have a team. Every year in November, there is a championship game called the Grey Cup. It is in a different city every year, and there is always a big party in that city.

The Concordia Stingers is the name of  Concordia’s men’s football team. They play rough, exciting, high-level Canadian football, and you can see a game at the stadium at Loyola Campus for just $4 during the regular season and $5 during the playoffs (with a student card).   It is especially exciting when they are playing against their arch-rival: the McGill Redmen. The season is from August to October. You can take the free shuttle bus from in front of the Hall Building to the Loyola Campus.
