Montreal has dozens of churches, old and new, but there are some very famous ones you should visit. When you go into any church, please remember that some people may be praying in the church, so please be quiet and respect their religion.
Notre-Dame Basilica [Basilique Notre-Dame-de-Montreal] in Old Montreal is probably the most famous and most beautiful church in the city.
Mary Queen of the World Cathedral [Cathèdrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde] is downtown.
Saint Joseph’s Oratory [Oratoire Saint-Joseph] is a large church on Mount Royal.
Notre-Dame de Bonsecours is also called the Sailor’s Church.
Christ Church Cathedral has a downtown shopping centre under it.
Saint Patrick’s Basilica is a beautiful Irish Catholic church downtown.
