» CLSC / Clinics
A CLSC [Centre local de services communautaires] is a community health clinic that is operated by the government. They don’t have the full services of hospitals, but there are doctors and nurses, counsellors and community information. If you don’t live near downtown, maybe you can go to a CLSC near you. To find a CLSC, click on this link and enter your postal code: Search for a CLSC (the page is in French, but you can find the CLSC near your home).
The CLSC that is nearest to Concordia is on the corner of de Maisonneuve West and Saint Mathieu Street, above Guy-Concordia (Saint Mathieu exit). They are open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, and on weekends and holidays from 8:00 to 4:00, and they can do some medical tests that your doctor asks for. You must bring your medical insurance claim forms and you will have to pay to see the doctor. Your insurance company will pay you back later.
