Halifax is a small but very interesting city in Nova Scotia, on the east coast of Canada. Founded in 1749, it has many historical places, several universities, a Canadian Navy base, and a very different culture of its own. This is where the famous Halifax Explosion happened in 1917.
Halifax is far from Montreal – over 900 km to drive or take a bus. The VIA train goes overnight and takes almost 24 hours. Flying from Montreal is about 2½ hours.
Nova Scotia is one of Canada’s oldest provinces, and it is a beautiful place to visit.
