Saint Patrick’s Basilica

Saint Patrick’s Basilica was built in 1847 for Montreal’s growing Irish immigrant population. Thousands of Irish immigrants came to Montreal in the 19th century, and they had a big influence on the development of the city. The Irish of the city still celebrate every year on Saint Patrick’s Day (March 17th). The church is very beautiful inside. It was built in the Gothic style.
